The Great Movies # 2: Nosferatu (1922)

This is a spooky horror classic. F.W. Murnau wanted to adapt Dracula for film but could not get the rights to it. So, what does he do? He makes the movie anyway. He changed the title and the names but the story is essentially the same. For the role of Count Drac-- err, I mean, Count Orlok, he cast actor Max Schreck whose lanky frame and scary makeup makes for one of the spookiest on-screen vampires ever captured on film.

Ahh back in the time when vampires were vampires, and you just played with names to get around not having rights.

The original Nosferatu is a wonderfully spooky film. The remake by Herzog in the 1980s was quite faithful to it and worthy in its own right.

I remember his iconic look, didn't know the whole background between it and dracula

WOAH, great find Bastard-bro! And indeed, Nosferatu is just UP there with proper vampire tropes and a truly scary presence.

And the full movie nonetheless! Double awesome.
